Jean Potts Memorial Trophy 2014

On Saturday May 17th our Club proudly hosted the 8th Jean Potts Memorial Trophy bowling competition.

Once again the weather gods shone down on the Wilmslow Conservative Club's bowling green. As it's only the middle of May we couldn't have asked for a sunnier and warmer day.

We're please to announce that this year we raised an amazing £810 for the British Heart Foundation. This is a new record for the event, and almost exactly double the previous record of £406 raised last year. A letter thanks received from the BHF organisation has been posted onto the Club noticeboards.

Alan, Joan, Tommy and all the family would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the day such a success and in reaching such a fantastic total. And a special thanks goes to those who generously donated prizes for the raffle, and anyone who helped to organise the raffle, food and drinks on the day.

As for the competition it was a usual case of friendly yet at times tense rivalry. Although everyone who competed will have happy memories of the day, for this years winners Victor Boughey and Janet Norris it turned out to be a particularly special day.
